At Hydrangeas Zone, we take as much care in packaging your plants as we do in growing them. However, we understand that sometimes a return or exchange may be necessary. Our policy is designed with the same thoughtfulness we apply to selecting our premium hydrangeas, magnolia trees, and other botanical treasures.
Our Return Policy
We accept returns within 15 days of delivery for most items. To be eligible for a return:
- Plants must be in their original condition (alive and healthy)
- Original packaging must be intact
- A copy of your order confirmation or receipt must accompany the return
Please note: Due to their delicate nature, cut flowers and seasonal plants marked as “final sale” cannot be returned. Live plants that show signs of improper care after delivery may not qualify for return.
Return Process
Follow these simple steps to return your items:
- Contact us at [email protected] within 15 days of receiving your order to initiate a return
- Provide details about your order and reason for return (use our template below)
- We’ll email you a Return Authorization Number and shipping instructions
- Package your return securely, including all original packing materials
- Ship your return to our nursery address (you’ll receive specific instructions)
Return Shipping
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error. We recommend using a trackable shipping service and purchasing shipping insurance, as we cannot guarantee we’ll receive your returned item.
Refund Process
Once your return is received and inspected (typically within 3-5 business days), we’ll send you an email to notify you that we’ve received your returned item. We’ll also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If approved, your refund will be processed to your original payment method within:
- Credit cards: 5-7 business days
- PayPal: 3-5 business days
Exchange Process
To exchange an item for a different plant variety (perhaps swapping azaleas for camellias):
- Follow the same process as a return
- In your email, specify the item you’d like to exchange for
- We’ll calculate any price difference and process accordingly
Exchanges are subject to availability. If your requested exchange isn’t available, we’ll issue a refund instead.

Damaged or Incorrect Items
If your eucalyptus trees or other plants arrive damaged or incorrect, please contact us immediately at [email protected] with photos of the damaged items and packaging. We’ll arrange for a replacement or refund without requiring you to return the item.
